LINNEA BENSON

VARSITY HEAD COACH

Linnea joined the Washburn team in 2022.  She coaches to share her passion for tennis, knowing the lasting impact that skills developed while being a high school athlete and teammate can have on a person’s life. She will strive to create a positive high school tennis experience and team atmosphere driven by respect and kindness for each other.  She has lived in the neighborhood for 25+ years and is excited to be part of the Miller family!
Linnea is new to coaching, but not tennis. She started playing tennis at 13 years old in Fairmont, MN. She grew up with three brothers that made great hitting partners and pushed her competitively. She graduated from Luther College in 1995 where she was an All-American doubles player.
She has continued to play USTA tennis at the local and national level since graduating. In her free time, Linnea enjoys spending time in the beautiful city of Minneapolis, traveling and being at her cabin with her family, and being active outside.
