Great Start to the 2016 Season!

The Washburn Millers got off to a great start by winning their first two matches of the season. Despite the loss of 14 seniors and fielding a team with more middle-schoolers than upperclassmen, Washburn defeated Minneapolis Roosevelt 6-1. Ben Anderson played his first varsity singles match and despite the loss, learned some valuable lessons. The Millers ended up winning the other matches without dropping a set.
Apple Valley was a match that could have gone either way, with a number of matches going three sets.  Washburn held on to win 5-2 at the Apple Valley indoor courts and will take that momentum into this weekend for their tournament in Elk River.
