In the bitter wind and cold, Washburn came away with three victories on Saturday in the Elk River tournament. This is the second year in a row they have won the tournament and the third year in a row they have defeated Elk River. Along the way they faced #4 ranked (A) Hibbing, Princeton and finished with last year’s state runner-up (AA) Elk River. Playing three different lineups, the Millers tried a number of things and played a number of players in their three matches. Washburn faces #8 (AA) Lakeville South this week, as well as conference rival Minneapolis Southwest.
